THIS IS ONLY A DRILL
The National Weather Service is now predicting that Hurricane Melissa
will pass directly over South New England as a Category 3 Storm. The
storm is currently located 200 miles off the coast of northern Florida.
Current projections have the storm traveling north-northeast
paralleling the eastern seaboard and turning slightly northwest over New
York City. The slow moving weather front will stall on Monday night
allowing the hurricane to shift from its current northeasterly track to
a north-northwest tilt. Current weather models provided below are
predicting a direct hit to southern New England and Nova Scotia. South
New England will begin experiencing powerful gusts in excess of 100mph
on Tuesday morning with the full force of the storm expected mid-night
on Tuesday.

Therefore, Bridgewater Emergency Management Agency is placing its
Emergency Operations Staff on Active ALERT at this time.

Please monitor your email for further details concerning full activation
of EOC staff in the coming days.
