Such an event would take a large number of dedicated volunteers to organize and promote such an event. We were lucky in the Whitman club that we had enough dedicated people for our reimagined ham flea market event for the last 2 years. We decided to hold it at a time of year when there was nothing else going on, focus on what we know (ham radio and electronics), and that turned out to be successful. Before the last 2 years it seemed to become clear that the area was saturated with general purpose flea markets, and with not having the traditional Saftler’s location on Memorial and Labor Day weekends just was impossible to keep going with.

Sorry to be negative, but I’m just being cautious. I’m thinking we may be better off looking at other ways to raise money rather than just copying what Whitman is doing, and right around the corner from the fall NEARFest.
